About YesodScript

YesodScript is a lightweight scripting language with its own VM for engine-agnostic projects in C#.

It is also usable as a NuGet package for .NET 8.0 and above (YesodScript.Engine)

This demo shows it handling real game concerns:

  • game state and variables
  • control flow (jumps, labels, calls)
  • input branching
  • frame timing and waits
  • rendering hooks (sprites, text, tweens)
  • audio triggers

Assets and scripts ship beside the executable, so the demo is both a game and a readable example of how the language is meant to be used. You can also fully mod the game without even touching the Github source code or rebuilding the executable.
